    The CMTC site is located within the Devens Industrial Park and consists of three historic buildings located on a flat 2 acre parcel of land on Barnum Road. The buildings are vacant and will need full renovation. Allowed uses include light manufacturing, R&D, or business incubation. The property is close to the Devens Business Services Center which hosts restaurants, retail shops, and two hotels. The property is also adjacent to Robbins Pond, a beautiful natural lake.

  • Property Notes:

    The CMTC was built between the years of 1938 and 1941 as part of the Army's post World War I national program to train civilians and non-commissioned Army Reserve officers to assist the US Army during times of war. During WWII, the buildings were converted to POW houses for German and Italian soldiers captured in Northern Africa. The buildings are significant to the history of the former Fort Devens and are part of the Devens Historical District. Any reuse of the CMTC will be subject to the redevelopment guidelines of the Massachusetts Historic Commission and will qualify for historic and abandoned building tax credits.
